Mushaf

Teachers have a choice to use a Mushaf when listening to a student.

Individual or Collective

Teachers will only be allowed to listen to 1 student at a time.

Speed

1. Students will need to recite in the Hadr mode(fast pace without merging letters).
2. Teachers should ensure students strive to complete a Juz within 20-23 mins. This is to ensure they complete by the end of the event.
3. Students in the 5 Juz categories can read each Juz individually depending on ability.
4. Students in the 10 and 15 Juz categories should try to read 2-3 Juz in one sitting, depending on ability

Tajwid

1. Teachers should ensure that students apply the Tajwid requirements. Therefore, recite each letter clearly (Makharij) and with ghunnah.
2. Teachers should advise the students of the benefits of learning and reading with Tajwid.

Mistakes

1. A student must be corrected if a Lahn Jaliyy (Major Mistake) occurs
2. Where a student makes a Hifdh mistake, he must be corrected. If a student makes too many mistakes: advise them to recite less than what they've signed up for.
3. Although challenging, a teacher must try not to show any facial expression, emotion, and/or bodily gestures (negative or positive) whilst any student is reciting or when they make a Hifdh mistake

Performance

Teachers should ensure they complete the performance sheet given to each student. Comments should be honest and fair.

Honouring the Student

Make each student feel honoured, appreciate, and acknowledge them as they are the bearers of the Qur’an.

May Allah make us from the true people of the Qur’an. Amin

Lastly, we seek your valued du’ās to make this event a success and of benefit to the communities we serve.
