Aims

2. Opportunity to review what has been previously memorised to a teacher
3. Spreading the spirit of competition amongst Huffadh
4. Creating an atmosphere of love amongst the people of the Qur’an
Time of arrival
All participants will be required to attend from 6:30AM till the end of the program. See timetable that will be provided for full day timings.
Registration
Registration will begin from 6:45AM. We will confirm your details and you will collect your lanyards. You MUST keep these visible at all times and will be required to show these to gain access to the meals & refreshments area we will arrange.
Late arrivals
Participants are kindly requested to arrive on time. If a participant does arrive late, they are requested to come to the registration area, where a COTQ member will assist.
Dress code
All participants must be appropriately dressed (awrah is covered properly) for the event.
Masjid Facilities
ABLUTION & TOILETS: Located on the ground floor of the Masjid.
Sister's Entrance: Entrance will be from front of Masjid.
If you want to leave the Masjid premises
During break times, participants can leave the Masjid, but they are required to return for their recital sessions. If a student is not present in front of the teacher, their recital slot will be given to anyone waiting. Please notify a volunteer.
Spectators
Family and Friends are permitted to observe and listen to your recitation. It is however advised, there are no children under 8 years of age in attendance on the day.
Emergency exits
Emergency exits are clearly marked and easy to locate in case of any emergency. Please take note of their locations. Stay safe and vigilant.
Speed
1. Each Juz(para) should be recited in the Hadr pace (fast pace without merging the letters) which should take approximately 20–23 mins to complete the Juz.
2. Participants for the Full Quran category will need approximately +/-10 hours to complete. Therefore, they will be required to recite as much as possible in one sitting to ensure completion.
3. Participants in the 5 Juz category can read each Juz individually depending on ability.
4. Participants in the 10 and 15 categories should try to read 2-3 Juz in one sitting, depending on ability.
Punctuality
Participants should ensure that they are in front of their teacher when it is their turn. To complete their chosen ajzaa, students must limit their break times and allocate more time for recitation.
Tajweed
Participants will be advised on Tajwid mistakes and when there is a Major mistake ( Lahn Jaliyy). Participants are required to recite each letter clearly (Makhaarij) along with Ghunnah.
Mistakes
Participants should prepare in the days leading up to the event to avoid making too many mistakes on the day. However, if a participant makes too many mistakes on the day they will be requested to recite less than what they’ve signed up for.
Respect for teachers
1. All participants must listen to teachers when mistakes are corrected.
2. All participants must treat the teachers as their own hifdh teachers with the utmost respect.
